The Navigate Studio found inspiration to design and produce a leaflet for Elizabeth FitzRoy Support to promote the ‘Inspired by Nature’ art exhibition at the Queen Elizabeth Country Park near Petersfield.
Members of Elizabeth FitzRoy Support’s On Track day services in Petersfield, Waterlooville and Havant have put on the exhibition where Navigate's promotional marketing material was well received.
The event, which started in December, ends on 6 February 2011. The artists have been supported in using several different techniques to create their artwork, including stencilling, sponge work, printing, templates and hand tools.
All the pieces in the exhibition are for sale and proceeds will help to fund future projects which will directly benefit the members. In preparation for the exhibition the artists have looked at pieces by Andrew Goldsworthy, Paul Gauguin, Vincent Van Gogh and Paul Cezanne, who were all influenced and inspired by nature to create many of their most famous works of art.
The local artists belong to On Track in Petersfield, Petersfield Disability Resource Centre (PDRC), Waterlooville Day Services, and The Phoenix Centre in Havant, On Track is a day service, used regularly by up to 80 members. It offers a range of activities internally, such as drama, music, cookery, IT, and arts and crafts; and external activities include local college courses, swimming, working at the FitzRoy Rural Skills Project at East Meon, and volunteering at The Triangle community centre cafe in Liss.
Established in 1962, Elizabeth FitzRoy Support is a national charity that provides tailored, flexible support services to people with learning and physical disabilities. It treats people as individuals, taking account of their specific needs, wants and aspirations, and builds the support they need around them.
The design work of the Navigate studio supported the ethos of Elizabeth FitzRoy and made sure that this exhibition has inspired a wide audience.
