America calling
03/08/2011
Visit USA (VUSA) is a member-based website aimed at consumers – simply to persuade them to go the US. Navigate and VUSA have met and agreed the structure, specification and budget in July. Navigate has also undertaken consultation and research with some of the members.

The challenge is to provide a site which serves three main audiences – visitors, members, and the media. Visitors want information which engages them and where access to content is simple, structured, and searchable.
From a member perspective, the benefits of membership need to be clear. Great content and information delivers quality and increased traffic. Navigate aims to provide all this and a dedicated join In page, and application Form. Members provide the content for the visitors to see. The better the content, the more visitors.
Members want enquiries and bookings, traffic, media exposure and value. So Navigate needs to provide for members dynamic content – news, offers, and profiles – supported by an easy to use content management system (CMS), social media links, simple upload of documents, images and videos, reporting and management tools.
For the media, the Navigate-designed website will provide news, features, facts and figures, events and contacts. The site is to have a dedicated media area with contacts, useful links, information about VUSA for the press, and a list of press releases.
The management of VUSA seeks a low-maintenance,and easy-to-run website which has added value, a high level of automatic renewals of membership and new members, easy visitor dialogue, and measurement and reporting tools.
Then Navigate is to train both the VUSA team and the members in the use of the CMS – each training session will occupy half a day. After a two-week period of member input, the new site will be ready for sign off and launch. The new site will go live at the end of September.
