A Roundabout Way of Getting the Message Across!
04/04/2007
Petersfield residents and visitors can now enjoy a newly landscaped roundabout as they travel to and from the town. Jacobs and Hunt estate agents, who are based on the corner of Lavant Street and Charles Street, approached design and marketing agency Navigate Design with the challenging brief to establish an advertising campaign with a difference that involved the local community.
As always, Navigate, based in Petersfield High Street, was keen to rise to the challenge, and Jacobs and Hunt Director James Dodds was delighted at their suggestion of sponsoring the Sheet Link roundabout.
"First impressions are a vital element of estate agency,” explains James, "and, equally, this roundabout is the busiest entry route in to Petersfield.” "Now, when people drive into the town, they are greeted by a re-vamped, colourful and well-maintained roundabout. It’s a great first impression and advert for Petersfield in general,” he adds. As a result of the funding from Jacobs and Hunt, the roundabout now displays a striking array of plants and shrubs, including a central spiral conifer, a variety of wild roses, potentilla and cordylines, edged with gravel all the way round. Navigate Director Gareth Gammon is also pleased to have been involved in such an innovative project.
"We are, of course, always pleased to carry out new projects for clients, but this one was especially nice, not only because we have a great existing working relationship with Jacobs and Hunt, but because it benefits the town and community,” he says. Navigate is also responsible for designing the Jacobs and Hunt website, www.jacobshunt.co.uk, plus a variety of other marketing material, including the design and production of all their press advertising. The carefully chosen selection of plants will develop over the next few weeks to ensure all-year-round colour, and both James and Gareth believe it will be great for regular users of the roundabout to see it come in to bloom and develop over time. And James is eager to help the town’s campaign for the Petersfield In Bloom Award in any way. "I would like to think I had had some involvement in obtaining such a renowned award,” he adds.
